Questions & Answers

How long is the wash cycle? Top

In most cases the total rinse time is between two and three minutes. In that time period the barrels are totally cleaned. All lees, tartrates, foam residue, and color are removed.

Does it use chemicals? Top

Design of the wash head eliminates the need for chemicals. Should the customer find it necessary or desirable to do so , the machine is adaptable to incorporate a chemical rinse. We are currently exploring the field of ozonated water rinsing, for those who might have developed barrel problems.

How much water does it use? Top

5 us gallons per minute per spray head. A two barrel machine uses 10 gpm, a four barrel uses 20 gpm.

Can it re-cycle water? Top

The machine can be modified to re-circulate rinse water. We do not recommend this practice without the installation of adequate safety measures to eliminated the possibility of cross contamination however.

Does it heat it's own water? Top

No. The machine provides the pressure and controls to facilitate the wash cycle, but the heating of the water must come from another source. Experience shows us that an "average" heat load is around 200,000 BTUs/hour per wash head.

Can it be used in several locations? Top

Absolutely! The machine was designed to be as portable as possible. Assuming the required voltage, water, and drainage are available the machine will operate just about anywhere. The TBC2 will even fit in the back of a full size pickup for easy transport.

What is the voltage requirements? Top

208 to 460 VAC 3 phase @ 15 amps

Can I buy just the wash head? Top

When we designed the machine we started with the wash head. It is the heart of the system and is the reason for the machines success. The rest of the machine is essential to cause the wash head to do what is necessary to clean the barrels. So the answer is "NO". The wash heads would be worthless without the rest of the machine.

Do I need hot and cold rinse capability? Top

Not necessarily. Although the majority of our customers prefer the flexibility to accommodate both, and we are happy to customize the machines to fit any need the customer may desire.

I don't recover lees. Must I pay for the lees recovery system? Top

NO, we have models without lees recovery capability.

How can I see one work? Top

If you are within a reasonable distance of our location we have a demo machine that we will gladly bring to your facility for you to try out. We also have a free video that we will send you on request. We also encourage you to contact any of our customers for their candid opinion on our equipment, service, and support.
